Emily Bustamante

Hello! I am Emily.

​

I am a freelance pattern- and dress-maker based in central Wisconsin.  I work primarily with theatres, but I regularly work with individuals on their projects, helping create wedding, or outfit, or cosplay designs come to life.  I love what I do.

​

Professionally, I continue to work at my artistic home, American Players Theatre, where I have worked for ten years.  

 

Academically, most recently I was the workroom supervisor at the University of Central Florida, where I taught classes (Costume Construction, Patterning I, II, and III, and Fabric Dyeing and Manipulation), draped for the shows, mentored student drapers, and supervised the construction and alterations required to open our seven shows each year.

Other places I have worked include the Glimmerglass Opera, Colorado Shakespeare Theatre, Northern Illinois University, the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, and as a freelance hand embroiderer at McCall Wilder, a couture children's clothing shop.
